Chairperson of the CRLLEN, Mr. Gerard Hard and Chief Executive Officer, Bill Coppinger, met with members of the Victorian State Cabinet as part of the Murrindindi Community Cabinet in Murrindindi Shire yesterday.
Mr. Hard met with Minister for Education Services and Minister for Employment and Youth Affairs, The Honourable Jacinta Allen, as part of a Youth Forum Held at the Alexandra Secondary College.
The CRLLEN Executive Officer participated in the Business Forum hosted by State Treasurer , The Honourable John Brumby. Also attending were Minister for Agriculture, The Honourable Bob Cameron and Minister for Energy Industries & Resources, The Honourable Theo Theophanous. Industry representatives from Aquaculture, Forestry, Farming, Hospitality, Tourism and Retail and Transport were among many to share their issues with the Ministers. Access to skills, training and telecommunications were high on the agenda.
The CRLLEN Executive were also fortunate to be represented at the State Cabinet Reception that evening at Marylands House, Marysville. Both the Chair and Chief Executive were able to speak at length with The Premier, The Honourable Steve Bracks, Minister for Education and Training, The Honourable Lyn Kosky and key Departmental Executives on a range of issues effecting communities across the entire LLEN.
Also in attendance was the Member for Seymour, Mr. Ben Hardman and Member for the Central Highlands, Mr. Robert Mitchell.
Mayor of Murrindindi, Councillor Mike Dalmau, was congratulated by the Premier for a constructive, informative and very well presented day, showcasing the benefits and highlighting the issues facing the Murrindindi communities.
