AGM 2008 Results

Andrew Hocking

Mr. Andrew Hocking, Chairperson of the Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network and Manager of IBM Australia’s, Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs, conveyed the sincere congratulations of the Board and all 173 members of the Central Ranges LLEN , [covering the Macedon, Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires] to the Kilmore Hospital and Broadford Secondary College for winning the inaugural Trailblazer Award.

              Mr. Hocking said:

“At a time when national skills shortages and opportunities for our young people are at a premium, it is very encouraging to see wonderful partnerships being formed between local employers and local schools, providing high quality training and employment pathways”.

"This award and student scholarship recognizes a creative and innovative approach that has been a “trailblazer” in the local area and one which others can and will follow".

Trail Blazer AwardMr. Ben Hardman, Member for Seymour and Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, congratulated the Board of the Kilmore Hospital when making the award to  Amanda Edwards, Director of Nursing.

Mr. Hardman also congratulated Mr Jim Alsop, Principal of Broadford Secondary College and Broadford Student Bridgit Joengbloed for the exceptional example they have set to create LOCAL high skill pathways from school to work and further education.

“A genuine, high quality example for others to follow, Mr. Hocking said.

Mr. Hocking also noted that the Annual General Meeting of the Central Ranges LLEN was pleased to witness the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding between the TSMoUCRLLEN Board and one of Australia’s largest companies/employers, Transfield Services[ASX-TSE].

Mr. Hocking said: “We are pleased to be renewing a partnership with such a highly respected and nationally significant  partner as Transfield Services. We look forward to a partnership with a company  that has such a strong commitment to working with communities to improve educational and economic opportunities for local people.
