Murrindindi ShireTo support the development of a Murrindindi Human Resource (HR) Network, the Murrindindi Shire Council and Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network (CRLLEN) proudly present a double barreled evening to be held at the Mt Pleasant Hotel in Alexandra on 26 February 2008. The evening will include a HR Network launch followed by a workshop, co-hosted by the Alexandra Traders and Tourism Association, titled “Employing People”.

In November 2005 the CRLLEN and the Murrindindi Shire Council accepted the final report of the Murrindindi Training Needs Study.  A key recommendation from the study was that a Human Resource (HR) Management Network be formed in Murrindindi. The concept was raised and considerable support expressed for a network at an Occupational Health & Safety workshop held in Alexandra in 2006.

As a result of the level of interest shown, a small steering committee has identified what the main aim of such a network might be. It is felt that there is considerable value in businesses across the Shire being represented at this network to identify common needs and directions to make recruiting, training and retaining their people more effective and efficient. Possible HR Network outcomes could include:

The HR Network launch from 5pm – 6.30pm, will be followed by a workshop titled “Employing People”, from 6.30pm -10.00pm.

We encourage you to have input into what a HR Network might look like and/or take the opportunity to attend this workshop.

As spaces are limited your RSVP is essential. This workshop has been created to help business operators recruit and retain the right staff.

This is an opportunity to receive practical tips on how to develop an employment strategy and receive valuable, up to date advice on employer responsibilities.

Finger food and refreshments will be provided with time to network with your peers.
