Check out our Frappr!Check out our Frappr!

This is a test site using 'FRAPPR' technology.

Click on the 'FRAPPR' Logos to see the full-size maps!!

'FRAPPR' stands for 'friend mapper' and was originally developed by the authors to map where their college friends had moved after graduation. The mapping technology is based on 'GOOGLE EARTH' maps.

We are trialling a range of 'social networking' software and technology to help us better understands the needs of the communities we serve.

Please add your own pin and tell us where you are!! Click the 'add yourself' button. We know we have users and subscribers from across Victoria, interstate and at least 2 from the United States of America.

Click on the 'Satellite' link to see full colour maps of our communities.

Click on the 'Central Ranges LLEN' link to see the full-size maps!!

Use the slide + or - to zoom in our out and change the scale of the map from Globe level to almost to street level!

Some Helpful Hints:

  1. When first trying to add your pin, you will find that the Australian Data is limited to larger towns/cities.

  2. You need to add the name of the closest major city to you, and then go back and edit your entry once the pin is in place.

  3. In this case Bendigo works [So does Benalla and Shepparton and Melbourne]

  4. When you are at the "add yourself to this map" page, make sure you select the "not in the US" link, then type Bendigo [or nearest large town] in to the Location field.

  5. Wait a few moments for the list to load from the web site and then it will show you a Selection that says Bendigo, Victoria (Australia) -or whatever town you selected]

  6. Select the town from the list.

  7. Complete the rest of the fields (such as email and name) then select Add me.

  8. It will add Bendigo [Or whichever Town you stipulated]. Your PIN is in the map!!

  9. Once your pin is in the map, you can edit your BASIC PROFILE from the Central Ranges LLEN page by following the link on the right had side of the map that says EDIT THIS ENTRY.

  10. This will take you to the GROUP profiles page. From here you can select BASIC PROFILE . The basic profile will allow you to edit the pin placement exactly, for instance you may want to move it to Woodend or Kyneton

Handy Tip!

When you need to edit your location, you can use the Latitude and Longitude of your town or village. You can use this globesm: LOCATION FINDER to get the exact Latitude and Longitude.

Remember to to add a Minus Sign - to the Latitude, to ensure it shows up in the Southern hemisphere.

For Example:

  • Woodend is Latitude: -37.35889 Longitude: 144.52639
  • Kinglake is Latitude: -37.53333 Longitude: 145.33972
  • Broadford is Latitude: -37.20389 Longitude: 145.04944

Final Step

  • Use the SATELLITE VIEW to find your exact location. The MAP view has less detail. You can change the scale of the map and drag it around until you find the exact area you need. You can then use the + and - signs to zoom in and out, before click on the spot you want the pin to be.

Goodluck!
