Plan for Growth

The Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network (LLEN) is leading the development of the Murrindindi Training Needs Analysis project, aptly titled ‘Plan for Growth’. This project has been developed by the skills and training committee of the Advancing Country Towns project for Alexandra, Eildon and Thornton and has been funded by Regional Development Australia and Advancing Country Towns. It is also supported by local stakeholders including the Murrindindi Shire Council, Outdoor Education Group, Alexandra District Hospital, Alexandra Secondary College, Murrindindi Training Institute, Continuing Education and Arts Centre of Alexandra (CEACA) and CVGT Australia.

The purpose of the ‘Plan for Growth’ project is to identify the high priority training needs for key industries within the Murrindindi Shire and provide important data on the development of training and tertiary education pathways, particularly given the significant changes wrought by the 2009 bushfires. The ‘Plan for Growth’ project intends to build on the 2005 Murrindindi Training Needs Analysis report and look at an integrated approach to training and community development.

Training and recruitment specialist John Brewin, owner of WorkforceXS Bendigo has been appointed as the consultant to deliver the ‘Plan for Growth’ report and through his extensive previous experience in training, government and financial sectors, John is well equipped to deliver this report.

Data will be collected through various means including focus groups, email surveys and face to face interviews with businesses throughout the region. The more information gathered will not only help assist in providing valuable information for the ‘Plan for Growth’ project, but also help contribute to the growth at all levels within the Murrindindi Shire community.

If you or your business would be interested in becoming further involved with the ‘Plan for Growth’ project in the Murrindindi Shire, please feel free to contact John Brewin on 0428 416 656 or fill in survey via this link: Plan for Growth Survey.
