Sixteen enthusiastic young women attended the Healthy Future’s Community Services and Health Information day held on Tuesday 23rd July 2013. The day was organised by Central Ranges LLEN and CVGT and kindly hosted by Kyneton Community Learning Centre.

Participants heard from a range of speakers including Nerrisa Fry from the Department of Health, Allied Health workers from Cobaw Community Health and General Manager Mandy Greetham, BUPA Kyneton.   A workshop was run by Victoria University and young student Syke from Gisborne Secondary College spoke about her experiences doing a School Based Apprenticeship.  Sessions were held to assist students in assessing which career option they would like to follow and also to navigate the possible pathways they could discuss with their Career Coordinators.

Students reported gaining a greater understanding of the sector and intent to follow up with their transitions and pathways school contact. The day was successful in building a base of students interested in enrolling in Community Services and Allied Health courses through the VET Cluster in 2014.
