Central Ranges VCAL Network Showcases Program for 2013


In December VCAL Coordinators and staff from across the areas of Mitchell, Murrindindi and Macedon Ranges re-invigorated the Central Ranges VCAL Network by showcasing projects and student achievements in 2013.  Projects and activities included:

·         Black tie dinner and silent auction

·         Entry into Hepatitis B Photography Awards

·         Participation in Driver Education, L2P Program and RACV Transmission project

·         Planning and instigating a room make-over

·         Production of “How to” DVD’s

·         Volunteering at a Community Kitchen

·         Writing local media articles,

·         Completing First Aid and other courses

·         Building Landcare Penguin boxes

·         Learning boxing

·         Involvement in peer support project

·         Visits to local Men’s Shed, and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre

·         Attendance at a number of camps

The network also developed an action plan for 2014 which includes, increasing the ability and confidence of members to comply with accreditation processes, promoting best practice, increasing connections with local community, and supporting and mentoring members.  A number of combined VCAL activities are planned for 2014.  For more information please contact Lisa Linton at Central Ranges LLEN 57 811 014.

CRLLEN – VCAL Network Survey 2013

Central Ranges LLEN is currently seeking the views of VCAL Coordinators and staff working in schools in Mitchell, Murrindindi and Macedon Ranges.

By completing this short online survey you will contribute to the CRLLEN VCAL Network’s objectives to bring together and provide mutual support to Victorian Certificate Applied Learning (VCAL) providers in the Central Ranges LLEN area. The intent is to provide an avenue for professional discussion, information and resource sharing as well as providing an opportunity for collaborative planning

The survey will be open to complete until COB Friday 15th March 2013.

Work Matters Professional Development Opportunity – Macedon Ranges

The Central Ranges LLEN are pleased to offer the opportunity to participate in Work Matters Workshop training in the Macedon Ranges area. The Professional development will be offered Tuesday, November 20 in Gisborne.


COST: Each participant is required to purchase the resources and DVD at $50 plus GST (this is half the usual cost of $99). The cost of the training facilitator has been sponsored by the Central Ranges LLEN. Schools/organisations will be invoiced for resources and DVD after the workshop. Training would be ideal for careers practitioners, VCAL teachers and others interested in assisting young people with careers and pathways.

Registrations required by 10am, Thursday November 15.
