The Minister for Planning, the Honourable Justin Madden, officially launched the Connecting Mitchell - Transport Connections project in Broadford at 2pm today.
Members of the Connecting Mitchell Partnership Group, [which includes the Central Ranges LLEN], guests and community members were welcomed by Member for Seymour, Mr. Ben Hardman. Mr. Chris McDonald, CEO of Mitchell Community Health spoke of the social and health gains possible when communities where better connected and had better access to services.
Transport Connections helps communities find practical solutions to improve existing transport services.
This is achieved by:
- bringing community groups and organisations, individuals, transport providers and local businesses together to develop tailored transport solutions and
- making better use of existing transport resources (public and private) through new and coordinated approaches
Transport Connections is a joint initiative of the Department for Planning and Community Development, Department of Human Services and Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
The Central Ranges LLEN is proud supporter and member of both the Murrindindi Transport Connections project and the Connecting Mitchell - Transport Connections project.
