Survey: Parent Engagement Programs

The Central Ranges LLEN is undertook two surveys of all Primary & Secondary Schools and Community Organsiations across the Shires of Murrindindi, Mitchell and Macedon Ranges in relation to Parental Engagement Programs.

The Aim:

  • map current Parental Engagement Programs across schools
  • highlight opportunities to develop new initiatives for parental engagement in schools
  • The Outcome:

  • increase parental engagement in schools and students education through a variety of activities
  • increase student engagement, retention and good education, training and employment destinations
  • We encouraged School Principals, Year level, Careers, Transitions, Pathways, Welfare and Parent Co-ordinators to complete the survey.

    The results of surveys will be use to assist networks across the Central Ranges LLEN to strengthen current and future parental engagement programs.

    As a result of this survey two Parental Engagement Committees have been formed in Hume (Mitchell & Murrindindi) and Macedon Ranges with Education and Community Stakeholder representatives. These committees will explore strategic partnerships with local networks and value add to current and innovative parental engagement activities to support the increase of young peoples engagement with education.
