Murrindindi Training Institute industry project

MTI.jpg copyMurrindindi Training Institute (MTI) project aim is to develop a training organisation that is an “…industry driven, centre of excellent providing enhanced vocational competency in Outdoor Recreation, Health and Hospitality”.

The MTI is based at the old Alexandra Hospital site and is commencing traineeships, Certificate III, IV and Diploma of Outdoor Education.

The MTI is a partnership between:

  • Murrindindi Shire Council
  • Alexandra Hospital
  • Continuing Education and Arts Centre of Alexandra
  • Central Ranges LLEN
  • Victorian Outdoor Education Industry representatives – Outdoor Education Group, Auscamp, Bindaree, Uniting Church Camping, YMCA, Australian Camps Association, Victorian Outdoor Education Association.

The Central Ranges LLEN sits on the Committee of Management and has provided financial and in kind support to the start-up and development of this Institute. Since October 2011, two Central Ranges LLEN Board members have also sat on the committee providing strategic direction.

In April 2013, the Murrindindi Training Institute appointed a Business Network Development Manager – Silke Koerner to assist in the development of future training and education opportunities as well as facilitate local industry and training networks to increase local training opportunities for the Murrindindi.
