Murrindindi Training Institute industry project

Murrindindi Training Institute (MTI) project aim is to develop a training organisation that is an “…industry driven, centre of excellent providing enhanced vocational competency in Outdoor Recreation, Health and Hospitality”.

The MTI is based at the old Alexandra Hospital site and is commencing traineeships, Certificate III, IV and Diploma of Outdoor Education in 2012. An official opening will be held in April.

The MTI is a partnership between:

  • Murrindindi Shire Council
  • Alexandra Hospital
  • Continuing Education and Arts Centre of Alexandra
  • Central Ranges LLEN
  • Victorian Outdoor Education Industry representatives – Outdoor Education Group, Auscamp, Bindaree, Uniting Church Camping, YMCA, Australian Camps Association, Victorian Outdoor Education Association.

The Central Ranges LLEN sits on the Committee of Management and has provided financial and in kind support to the start-up and development of this Institute. Two Central Ranges LLEN Board members also sit on the committee providing strategic direction.
