It provides a strategic overview of the critical issues and opportunities for young people’s education and training in the area and how the Central Ranges LLEN seeks to make an impact.

The Environmental Scan 2012 has updated the 2011 version with the latest education and training statistics for the Central Ranges LLEN area.

The Environmental Scan will be updated every year to ensure it reflects the contemporary landscape for local young people.

About the research

Research for the Environmental Scan is collected from a variety of sources.  The latest Scan includes education-related data received from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and community data from the Department of Community Development to form a focused and authoritative view of our communities and the opportunities and challenges facing them.

The Environmental Scan is a valuable youth, labour market and general planning resource for the communities of the Macedon, Mitchell and Murrindindi shires. It covers a range of social, economic, industry, environmental and labour market indicators.
