Resources

There are many resources for students, schools, training providers, community groups and businesses seeking to know more about education, training and employment for young people. A few include:

  • Learn Local – Victorian Adult Community and Further Education providers or Learn Locals have a new website to explore training and community engagement opportunities in your local area.
  • On Track – annual and longitudinal survey of young people’s destination divided into Early School Leavers and Year 12 completers.  Data can be seen via LLEN area, Local Government Area and TAFE study area.
  • Student Mapping Tool – a handy tool for collating and analysing school data, from The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
  • My Skills – an excellent database of training organisations, financial assistance, statistics on training providers, from Federal Government
  • Youth Transitions – a list of programs and tools available to schools to assist students to navigate through senior secondary education and training options
  • In Transit – From Primary to Secondary School – Transitioning from primary to secondary school is a big step for any young person. New subjects, new teachers, new structures and new friends add up to some big new challenges
  • Dusseldorp Skills Forum – download quality research documents from the Dusseldorp Skills Forum – an independent research organisation
  • Foundation for Young Australians – research, initiatives and partnerships. A national, independent, non-profit organisation dedicated to young people
  • NAB – Schools First – This program provides financial support to build stronger school-community partnerships.
  • Youth Connect – Youth Connect works with the community to provide all young people with the skills and knowledge to support them to manage a successful pathway through secondary education, further learning and employment
  • Youth Central – information and advice on jobs, study, travel, money and events in Victoria, plus opportunities for you to participate
  • Youth.gov.au – Commonwealth Government Youth Portal. Includes links to a wide variety of quality youth-related sites
  • Victorian Applied Learning Association (VALA) – VALA is the peak organisation for applied learning practitioners. It offers leadership, development and advocacy for educators of applied learning across all sectors.
  • TAFE and Training Course Directory – a searchable directory of TAFE courses and associated careers
  • Family School Partnerships Bureau – resources on developing partnerships between parents and schools
  • Myfuture – current career information, articles and links to thousands of resources to assist you on your career journey.
  • Mitchell Shire Council – local information and resources relevant to Mitchell Shire
  • Murrindindi Shire Council – local information and resources relevant to Murrindindi Shire.
  • Macedon Ranges Shire Council – local information and resources relevant to Macedon Ranges Shire.
  • Digital Dirt Sticks (video MP4 9 MB) – A two-minute film about the lasting affects of Facebook bullying.
  • The Power of Words (video MP4 (11MB) – A very clever, short video about the power of words.
  • Lost Generation video MP4 11MB) – an inspirational video about the need for world change and the power of young people.
