Did you Know? - Shift Happens!

Wed, Dec 12, 2007; by Bill Coppinger.

Vibrant, engaged and future-focussed young people are the corner-stone of any healthy and functioning community.

All communities, no matter how large or small have a responsibility to nurture and assist in the transition from youth to adulthood, from school to further education and employment.

Historically, this transition has never been more competitive, more uncertain, and for some, never more threatening. Shift is happening......

We need your help to assist in improving the understanding in our communities about the challenges and opportunities facing our young people.

We need your help to begin conversations within your community about how best to support the work of schools and other education providers in preparing our young people for an ever increasingly complex world.

History of Shift Happens

Did You Know? originally started out as a PowerPoint presentation for a faculty meeting in August 2006 at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colorado, United States. The presentation "went viral" on the Web in February 2007 and, as of June 2007, had been seen by at least 5 million online viewers. Today the old and new versions of the online presentation have been seen by at least 10 million people, not including the countless others who saw it at conferences, workshops, training institutes, and other venues.
