CHRISTINE COX TRAILBLAZER AWARD

Recognising outstanding leadership, demonstrated excellence and noteworthy contributions to improving the education, training, employment and wellbeing outcomes of young people in the Macedon Ranges, Mitchell and Murrindindi Shires, or has been a significant partner to Central Ranges LLEN

HISTORY OF THE AWARD

Christine made a huge impact on the lives of young people in the Central Ranges LLEN area, especially students from schools in the Lower Hume cluster.

Christine commenced her journey in facilitating school and industry partnerships to support students in gaining access to vocational education and training more than a decade before her death. Christine led the development of the Lower Hume VET and Pathways Cluster and spearheaded a number of partnerships between schools and industry such as the Solar Car challenge and industry partnerships with Central Ranges Trade Training Centre application.

Christine’s greatest achievement was the strength of partnerships developed between schools in Mitchell, Murrindindi, Strathbogie and Whittlesea to deliver VET subjects across this large geographical area and increase the opportunities for careers and pathways development for all young people attending those schools.

Christine is greatly missed by her peers, friends, colleagues and local community. There is only one Christine Cox and boy did she make an impression!
