GOVERNANCE
We are an independent, not-for-profit, community organisation. We work with education, industry, community and government sectors to improve the outcomes for young people in Murrindindi, Mitchell and Macedon Ranges Shires. As one of 31 LLENs operating across Victoria, we are part of the VicLLEN network.
History and Legal Status
Incorporated in April 2002, Central Ranges LLEN holds the Australian Business Number (ABN) 49 447 109 218. We are proud to be registered as a not-for-profit entity and report annually to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Our financial reports are available on the ACNC website.
Our Board
Our organisation is governed by a volunteer Board of Management. Board members are elected for two-year terms, with approximately half of these positions up for election at our Annual General Meeting in May each year. Our board represents a diverse array of backgrounds, interests and expertise, reflecting the communities we serve in Murrindindi, Mitchell and Macedon Ranges Shires.
According to the Central Ranges LLEN Rules, board members are elected from the following membership categories:
Education
Industry
Community
Government

Board Vacancies
Currently, there are six board positions vacant. New office bearers will be elected at the July Board meeting. Membership makes you eligible to become a volunteer board member. Our board meets 5 to 6 times per year at various locations across our three shires (Mitchell, Murrindindi and Macedon Ranges). Meetings generally last for three hours on a Thursday morning, with specific times and dates decided by the board. We provide new board members with an induction and offer opportunities for professional development in not-for-profit governance, along with valuable networking opportunities.
Membership requires no levied fee, a policy we have maintained throughout our history with no plans to change. Becoming a member allows you to stay informed about our planned activities, receive our annual reports and vote at our Annual General Meeting.
