Central Ranges LLEN aims to help local young people connect with relevant and high-quality education, training and employment opportunities. We do that by working closely with service providers, schools, government authorities and agencies.
2026 SCHOOL-TO-WORK PROGRAMS
Build career and ambition early

This program for Year 7 students helps build work readiness and explore career aspirations, it incorporates six flexible modules that can be tailored to the needs of students, teachers, and schools. Modules are designed to integrate into the school curriculum, with delivery timelines discussed on an individual basis.
This program includes:
Modules 1 & 2: Self Reflection & Networking
Identify strengths, interests, and career ideas.
Understand workplace skills and career pathways.
Build awareness of support networks.
Module 3: Guest Speakers
Hear real career stories from industry professionals.
Learn about pathways, skills, and qualifications.
Gain inspiration and real-world insights.
Module 4: Industry & Higher Education Excursions
Visit industry workplaces, universities, and TAFEs.
Explore career and study options firsthand.
Learn about courses, pathways, and student life.
Module 5: VIC Vice (Virtual Reality Goggles)
Experience workplaces through VR Goggles.
Explore industries via interactive simulations.
Build career awareness in an engaging way.
Module 6: Student Presentations
Students turn what they’ve learned into a personal career plan.
Students create a presentation using a visual board, slides, or a speech.
Students share their career goals with peers, teachers, and family.
Ready Steady Careers supports students and their families to become more engaged with education, re-ignite a passion for learning, and explore future pathways and possibilities they may not have previously considered.

Find their Feet is a personalised journey into the future world of work for years 8-9 students, and their families, to meet with a range of industry representatives.

VIC VICE is a cutting-edge virtual reality platform that provides students with a fully-immersive, interactive, and multi-sensory experience of various workplaces and industries.

Available to all year levels 7-12.
Inspiring talks delivered by relatable people from different industries.
Students have the opportunity to listen, engage and discuss pathways and employment options.

Tours and workshops provide opportunities for staff and students to meet with business representatives in their workplace and explore the many training and employment options.
The World of Work

Work Placements encompassing Structured Workplace Learning, Work-experience and School based Apprenticeships and Traineeships. You can find these opportunities on our School to Work portal at: workplacements.education.vic.gov.au

A short, introductory program designed to give students hands on practical experience of a specific industry or profession. Tailored for students exploring different career paths or looking to gain practical insight.

Available for students in years 9-11 this is a weeklong immersion in specific industries. This can be delivered as a Structured Workplace Placement in a group or Work experience.
Prepare for the Future

Students complete a job application letter and CV, then participate in a simulated job interview with an industry volunteer. The students receive feedback from their interviewers to assist them in their preparation for the ‘real thing’.

A guided talk to financial savvy and work preparedness covering a range of topics from how to apply for a Tax File Number, open a Bank Account, read a pay slip, along with FairWork website navigation, budgeting and the truth about credit cards.

Project Ready is a one-year work readiness program incorporating VET Certificate II in Active Volunteering. The program is compatible with Vocational Major and prepares students for the transition from secondary school to the workforce. projectready.vic.edu.au
