SUNBURY MACEDON RANGES VET CLUSTER

The Sunbury Macedon Ranges VET Cluster (SMRVC) is a collaborative network of ten government, Catholic and independent secondary schools across the Sunbury and Macedon Ranges region, working together to expand student access to Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VDSS).

Why VET Pathways Matter

By working together as a Cluster, member schools can offer students more choice, share delivery where possible, and connect them with suitable schools, TAFEs and Registered Training Organisations across the region. This collaborative model helps reduce barriers to participation, including transport, and strengthens pathways from secondary school into further education, training and employment.

About the Cluster

Students remain enrolled at their home school while the Cluster model gives them access to VET opportunities delivered through other member schools and external training providers. SMRVC currently supports access to courses aligned with regional workforce demand, including:

  • Building and Construction

  • Community Services and Early Childhood Education

  • Digital Technologies

  • Health

  • Hospitality, Events and Tourism

  • Renewable Energy and Engineering

Our Partnership

SMRVC works collaboratively with TAFEs, Registered Training Organisations, Local Learning and Employment Networks, industry, employers, government and community partners to strengthen vocational opportunities and respond to changing workforce needs. This initiative is delivered through a partnership between:

  • Central Ranges LLEN

  • Member secondary schools

  • TAFEs and registered training providers

  • Industry and community organisations
