Shifting Focus: CRLLEN Concludes Early Childhood Education Offering
At Central Ranges Local Learning and Employment Network (CRLLEN), we’ve always believed in finding and filling the gaps in our community. Our Early Childhood Education and Care program was born from this commitment, designed to meet a vital need in our region. Over the years, it’s been a source of invaluable resources and support for educators and families.
After careful consideration, we have decided to discontinue the active facilitation of the Early Childhood Education and Care program. While this decision was not made lightly, it reflects our ongoing commitment to adapting our services to best serve the needs of our community.
Nicky Leitch, CEO of CRLLEN, shared the following thoughts on this decision:
“When we initially launched the Early Childhood Education program, we had identified a significant gap in our community. We created an opportunity to bridge this gap and provide valuable resources and support to those interested in early childhood education careers. While we’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, we believe it’s time for us to step back from direct facilitation. However, our commitment to this sector remains strong. We will continue to make these excellent resources available under the resource section of our website, ensuring that they remain accessible to all who need them.”
We want to assure our community that although we will no longer be facilitating this program directly, we are not abandoning our support for early childhood education. The valuable resources we've developed and curated over time will remain available on our website for anyone to access and benefit from.
The success of our CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care program owes much to the unwavering support of Macedon Ranges Shire Council. Their partnership has been nothing short of transformative, opening doors for our students across the region's kindergartens and childcare centres. By providing these crucial placement opportunities, the Council has not only enriched our program but also invested in the future of early childhood education in our community. We extend our deepest appreciation for their commitment to nurturing the next generation of educators.
For those interested in the details of the program we offered:
The CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care was a nationally recognised VET qualification that provided students with the knowledge and skills to work in a range of early childhood education settings.
The program was available to Victorian school students as part of their VCE or VCAL studies.
It was delivered via Access Skills Training – TOID 4063 and included both core and elective units covering various aspects of early childhood education and care.
The course duration was 2 years, with classes held at Manna Gum Family and Children's Centre, generously supported by Macedon Ranges Shire Council.
While we will no longer be facilitating this specific program, we encourage those interested in early childhood education to explore other available options in the region.
Although the program will no longer be active, we believe the materials we developed remain valuable. Therefore, we will be maintaining these resources under the Resources section of our website for continued access. We encourage educators, families and community members to utilise these tools as they continue their journey in early childhood education.
In addition to these resources, we invite you to explore the other programs and initiatives CRLLEN offers. Our Programs & Initiatives page provides a range of opportunities designed to support youth skills development, vocational training, and career exploration.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in and supported this program over the years. Your dedication has been inspiring, and we look forward to continuing to support your educational and career journeys in new ways.
Stay connected with us as we continue to adapt and expand our services to meet the needs of our community. We appreciate your ongoing support and trust in Central Ranges LLEN, and we’re excited to keep you updated on how we’re evolving to support learning and employment initiatives.
